Don,
Hope
all
is
going
well
on
Saddle
Lake.
I
have
Saddle
on the schedual for
next week for an algae treatment and an E.coli
sampling. I would like to get
your input on the algae. I will probably do the same
as last time and
evaluate and spot treat where algae growth is
excessive. Algae typically is
problematic this time of the year, but the weather
this year has not been
typical. Please let me know if this sounds alright.
Thanks Andy
Hi
Andy,
That
sounds
good
because
although
I
don't
see
it
as a
problem at my location, I went on a boat ride with
someone else from the lake and they did see it as a
problem. It sounds like spot treatment is the thing
to do.
We had 8 people on the boat and everyone is just
overjoyed with the results of the weed treatment!
Some observed results of the removal of milfoil have
been: the lake no longer supports a large number of
swans, swan babies (cygnets) are being eaten by
turtles because they can be seen now, fish seem to be
already increasing in size, lake use by boats has
increased, one person who strongly voiced objection to
the project now admits the lake is much better.
Thanks to you and PLM for being accurate in your
projections that the milfoil was "no longer a
recreational nuisance by July 4"!
